The first PM4SD (Project Management for Sustainable Development) training online course by TrainingAid and Jlag was delivered from February 19 - March 16, 2018, and successfully concluded after four inspiring weeks filled with lessons, discussions, ideas, examples and tips on effective project management in sustainable tourism.

Broad Representation of Tourism Stakeholders
The PM4SD Foundation course (PM4SD-1810) was attended by 33 tourism industry professionals from 15 countries, representing various sectors and diverse perspectives.

Collaboration with Leading Industry Organizations and Sustainable Tourism Experts
The course was offered in collaboration with the following supporting organizations: Blue Community, Caribbean Tourism Organization, Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and the Travel Foundation.
PM4SD Trainers Silvia Barbone and Mike Dollin, along with Assistant Trainer Holly Prievo (PM4SD Practitioner), guided through the lessons on the PM4SD Foundation-level training materials, and provided guidance to prepare for the PM4SD Foundation certification.

Project Examples: From Crisis Management, Destination Marketing to Product Development
An important learning outcome has also come from the project examples and lessons shared by course participants themselves, with real-life issues and challenges highlighted through project summaries shared and feedback and ideas exchanged among the course members.
The course has reinforced the importance of knowledge transfer - sharing successful examples and lessons learned - to facilitate effective project management practices leading to tangible, long-term benefits for destinations and communities.
The second edition of the PM4SD online course (PM4SD-1802) is scheduled for May 4 - June 1, 2018.
PM4SD Online Courses
Since 2013, 20+ PM4SD training courses have been delivered in over a dozen locations across Europe and beyond. Through a partnership between Jlag and TrainingAid, PM4SD training is now available as a 4-week facilitated online course, open to all tourism stakeholders and project managers. By completing the online course, participants are able to satisfy the requirements towards the official PM4SD exam, administered through APMG International, the leading accreditation and exam institute.
The upcoming Foundation-level* PM4SD online course is scheduled for May 7 - June 1, 2018.
