PM4SD Trainers Silvia Barbone and Mike Dollin, along with Assistant Trainer Holly Prievo (PM4SD Practitioner), guided through the lessons on the PM4SD Foundation-level training materials, and provided guidance to prepare for the PM4SD Foundation certification.

In addition, the course featured guest expert presentations by:

An important learning outcome has also come from the project examples and lessons shared by course participants themselves, with real-life issues and challenges highlighted through project summaries shared and feedback and ideas exchanged among the course members.

The course has reinforced the importance of knowledge transfer - sharing successful examples and lessons learned - to facilitate effective project management practices leading to tangible, long-term benefits for destinations and communities.

The second edition of the PM4SD online course (PM4SD-1802) is scheduled for May 4 - June 1, 2018.

PM4SD Online Courses

Since 2013, 20+ PM4SD training courses have been delivered in over a dozen locations across Europe and beyond. Through a partnership between Jlag and TrainingAid, PM4SD training is now available as a 4-week facilitated online course, open to all tourism stakeholders and project managers. By completing the online course, participants are able to satisfy the requirements towards the official PM4SD exam, administered through APMG International, the leading accreditation and exam institute.

The upcoming Foundation-level* PM4SD online course is scheduled for May 7 - June 1, 2018.

*The PM4SD qualification consists of the following two levels:

  • Foundation Level: The Foundation training is designed to provide participants with knowledge and understanding to work effectively within a project management team to successfully deliver a sustainable tourism project. The Foundation level training is a prerequisite for the practitioner certification.
  • Practitioner Level: The Practitioner training is designed to equip participants with the skills to manage and deliver a sustainable project using PM4SD. Those who have passed the PM4SD Practitioner examination are officially registered as a "PM4SD Practitioner", which they can promote on their business cards and professional profiles.
