Dr. Sreeja KG is Research Director with EQUINOCT – Community Sourced Modelling Solutions, a tech startup in climate solutions, and co-founder, Dharaa Livelihood Initiative, a social enterprise seeking to support indigenous women’s enterprises. She is also the co-founder and CEO of Resilient Destinations Foundation (RDF) a not-for-profit company working towards co- creation of Climate Resilient and Climate Responsible Destinations with multi-sectoral partnerships in Tourism, Development and Humanitarian sectors.

Her work focuses on the challenges of climate change and human interventions on tropical nature-based livelihoods and community resilience. She has expertise in impact assessments of climate change in multiple landscapes ranging from the mountains to the coast. She was a consultant to Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, GoI and the Cochin International Airport Limited on flood risk mitigation strategies in the aftermath of the Kerala floods of 2018. An Agricultural Economist by training, she holds a PhD in Agro-ecology & Agricultural Systems from the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Bangalore and a post-doctoral fellowship in climate change impact assessment from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India. She is the recipient of the SARAI-CSDS award for research on commons 2007, the Best thesis award NIAS 2012-13 and the INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) Fellowship on Heritage and Climate Change, 2020. Sreeja is one of the 16 climate champions of Women Climate Collective, an online community of women working in the climate and/or gender ecosystem in India.
