This year, 21 project managers from across Armenia participated in and completed the PM4SD Foundation-level training, and many of them will be pursuing the official PM4SD certification.
The 3-week course featured, in addition to the online video lessons on the PM4SD methodology and project exercies, case study presentations by our guest expert presenters:
The guest presentation on "Destination Management, from Monitoring to Wise Decisions", by Bogdan Papuc of the Association of Ecotourism in Romania (AER), covered a case study of the destination Țara Hațegului – Retezat, and how a new approach to visitor satisfaction survey has been used to better inform product development and marketing needs and opportunities.
Rob Holms (Founder & Chief Strategist, GLP Films) presented on Destination Marketing and Sustainable Tourism Development, providing case studies of destinations from around the world that demonstrated how storytelling can be used as a force for good in sustainable tourism development, and offering practical insights into
We also offered a guest presentation and Q&A with marketing expert Helene Lloyd, addressing key questions and issues related to product development and marketing.
The custom online course has been organized as part of a blended training, to be followed by a face-to-face training session in Yerevan, Armenia next month (June 26-28, 2019).
Some of the training participants from the two courses (2018 and 2019) offered through the UNDP Armenia IRTD Project will be continuing their training, taking the PM4SD Practitioner Training Online Course (scheduled for June 3 - June 14, 2019).
