Sustainable Destination Management, Case Study from Brazil
Focused on practical steps to applying the GSTC Criteria for Destinations, this webinar will share lessons from successful sustainable destination management examples in Brazil.
The GSTC Criteria for Destinations and the related Performance Indicators were developed based on already recognized criteria and approaches including, for example, the UNWTO destination level indicators, GSTC Criteria for Hotels and Tour Operators, and nearly 40 other widely accepted principles and guidelines, certification criteria and indicators.
Webinar Presenter: Dr. D'Arcy Dornan, GSTC Brazil Country Representative
Dr. D'Arcy Dornan is is the director of Tourism, Hospitality & Education Solutions. D'Arcy is the Brazil Country Representative for the GSTC, and serves as a Trainer for the GSTC Sustainable Tourism Training Program. D'Arcy completed his Ph.D. at the University of California, Davis, where he specialized in sustainable tourism development. He has taught, published and presented in tourism and hospitality and has been undergraduate/graduate program director at institutions in the U.S. and France.
D'Arcy is the lead trainer for the upcoming GSTC Sustainable Tourism Training online class (2017 Q2), which will be held from April 3-28, 2017.

The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) is a multi-stakeholder global membership organization with the mission of mainstreaming sustainable tourism to reduce poverty, protect destinations and help create a viable market for sustainable tourism products.
