About the Program
The Executive Development Institute for Tourism (EDIT) at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa provides professionals from the travel and tourism industry the knowledge and skills needed to work effectively in an environment of change and innovation, and prepares leaders to develop strategic approaches to international destination marketing, product development, and international tourism policy.
This flagship program at the School of Travel Industry Management builds leadership proficiency and managerial skills for rising executives, heads of businesses, and leaders of governmental agencies from the public and private sectors.
EDIT courses focus on the following areas:
- Tourism Destination Marketing and Promotion: provides an overview on destination marketing with a framework to develop a marketing strategy that will help participants build and learn how to create and sustain customer and stakeholder value for their destination.
- Innovation in Tourism Product Development and Management: provides an in depth interdisciplinary overview of core, facilitating, and supporting products that satisfy the wants and needs of the consumer.
- International Tourism Policy: recognizes the interdependence of policy issues and the need to work collaboratively towards the development of integrated policy initiatives.
PATA Foundation Scholarship
The PATA Foundation is offering one scholarship for this programme; this is valued at US$5,000 and covers registration, tuition fees, and partial support for accommodation and subsistence expenses. In addition, one partial Scholarship – to the value of US$3,000 – is also kindly offered by the Jerome A. Keller Memorial Fund.
To be eligible, the organisation must be a PATA member in good standing, and the candidate should hold an executive position.
