Matthias Beyer is Managing Director of mascontour GmbH, a Berlin based international consulting firm for sustainable tourism development (analysis, planning, management, marketing and PR, evaluation and monitoring). He is a fully qualified graduate of the hotel business with a certificate from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and holds an engineering degree in landscape planning with a specialization in sustainable tourism planning.
After completing his studies, he worked as a freelance consultant and expert for several years and conducted various national and international tourism projects. In 2005 he co-founded the international consulting firm mascontour that offers sustainable solutions for destinations, tourism businesses, policy makers and development cooperation. With Mr. Beyer as General Manager, the firm has since implemented about 100 tourism projects in over 40 countries.
In addition, Matthias Beyer works as a lecturer at the Bremen University of Applied Sciences and prepared a number of trade publications. He is a member of several organizations, including the Sustainability Committee of the German Travel Association (DRV).
