Deirdre is Project Manager & Senior Specialist for the UN Environment (Regional Office for Latin America & the Caribbean, ROLAC).

She has contributed to Guyana’s integrated 20-year national development policy and strategy, based on the green economy, through a $1.5M project funded by Guyana REDD+ Investment Fund (GRIF) and UN Environment.

She has also served as Senior Strategic Advisor to the Caribbean Cooling Initiative project of UN Environment (Energy Branch) targeting 5 Caribbean countries, focusing on areas including project logistics and implementation; market assessment online surveys for hotel and suppliers in target markets; output and report reviews.

She has also advised UNESCO on the global tourism sector’s response to tourism and climate impacts at World Heritage sites and UNWTO on mainstreaming sustainable consumption and production principles into tourism master plans.
