During a 28 year career in the Tourism & Hospitality industry, Catherine Evans has developed and contributed to a range of projects for experiential travel, cultural exchanges, adventure travel and ecotourism, wildlife tourism, destination marketing, and community-based development. She is a successful entrepreneur of the global travel company Tours of Exploration – managing product development, customer/supplier relations and day to day operations. Her industry network spans seven continents and involves work with all tourism industry sectors. Personal journeys have taken her to five continents in roles ranging from tour escort, conference presenter & delegate, family holidaymaker, and independent explorer.
Catherine is Associate Faculty at Royal Roads University in Victoria, Canada. She teaches in a variety of degree, diploma, certificate and continuing education programs and enjoys supporting her students through theoretical, experience-based and active learning as they pursue their educational and career goals. Current courses include Globalization, and Transforming Destinations. Catherine has designed curricula for Strategic Resort Management, Tourism Product Development, and Ecoliteracy. Between 2012–2014 she spent three terms at Jinhua Polytechnic in China as Faculty in the International Hotel Management program assisting with instruction, faculty mentorship, and program development.
